Annotation: Relating to the high rates of human development and the careless attitude of a person to work, the number of man-made and natural disasters-emergency situations (ES) is growing. This has a negative impact on the economy of the region in which the emergency occurs. The article presents statistics on the amount of damage caused by the largest emergency situations in the world. The necessity of improving the system of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations is substantiated.
